Audiology Experience

Professional Hearing Services, Dr. Ken Henry, Falls Church, VA                May 2008
Twelve month clinical externship:   Independent case load; providing patient care during multi-site rotations.  Technical performance  and diagnostic interpretation of comprehensive audiometric evaluations, hearing instrument evaluation, fitting and verification, vestibular assessment, electrophysiology assessment, auditory processing measures and collaborated with the  Ear, Nose and Throat Specialists of Northern Virginia in diagnosing balance disorders for their patients.  Pediatric to geriatric populations served.

 

Audiological and Hearing Aid Service, Dr. Crystal Deacon, Altoona, PA     January 2008-May 2008
Five month clinical externship:  Performance and interpretation of audiometric measures focused mainly on hearing aid technology, ABR, ENG and comprehensive audiometry.  Responsible for independent case load. Pediatric to geriatric populations served.

Student Clerkship:   Performance and interpretation of comprehensive audiometry, hearing instrument evaluation, fitting and verification and troubleshooting hearing instrument technology.   Co-managed cases with staff audiologists, in addition to seeing patients independently. Student Clerkship:  Hearing instrument fitting and repair, comprehensive audiometric evaluations, tympanometry, otoacoustic emissions, ABR, and VNG.  Co-managed cases with Dr. Elliot and her staff, with some opportunities to perform independent cases, pediatric and geriatric populations served.
